Global Markets Pummeled By Rising Recession Fears

Global stock markets plummeted Monday on fears the widening credit crisis would drag the world-wide economy into recession.

In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average skidded below 10,000 for the first time in four years, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell over 4 percent.
