Bad uses of RSS syndication / SEO:

• Trying to make a keyword rich fully automated site that has no content other than a keyword rich RSS feed
• Javascript RSS widgets are a poor use of RSS in terms of SEO, because the data is only displayed in the browser - not read by search engines. That is not to say that RSS / XML can not be used for exceptional purposes with Javascript widgets, just that it isn’t SEO friendly.
