Tagged: InsuranceA significant number of single people in the UK are risking future personal finance problems, including debt, by failing to secure income protection insurance, it has been suggested.
According to research conducted by Zurich, less than one in ten (eight per cent) of such people have income protection in place.
Meanwhile, 70 per cent of single consumers have never sought advice from an independent financial advisor, the study found.
However, 45 per cent of those questioned reported that they consider it to be very important to have no credit card debts or overdrafts.
“The research has demonstrated that there is a real need for financial advice, particularly among people who are single,” stated Tony Solomon, business development director at Zurich UK Life.
In other news, the Trades Union Congress and Citizens Advice recently launched a guide for people who have lost their jobs to help them know their rights and cope with financial problems such as debt.
